On This International Day of Peace - Let Us Remember & Never Forget … There Is No Peace Without Justice.

Sudan is one of the richest nations in Africa where natural resources are concerned. Because of the ongoing genocide 40 children die each day there from hunger. [40] little lives extinguished every day, while you read this, a light went out.

Clooney on arrest: ‘I’m on the right side of history’ #nuba #humanrights #Sudan http://video.msnbc.msn.com/mitchell-reports/46761259/ http://flpbd.it/9D4MT by @mitchellreports

After his arrest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington D.C., actor George Clooney told NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, “it’s a humiliating thing to be arrested no matter what you do, but I’m proud to be standing here with my father.”

» right before clooney was arrested, i was able to speak with him as he was escorted away by police. (3-16-2012)

» i’ll stand together here with my father, so that at one moment in time when you people ask you where were you, where did you stand i want to say i’m standing on the right side of history.

Darfuri Refugees Make Plea on Behalf of Blue Nile, Southern Kordofan.
Guest blogger. Gabriel Stauring, Human Rights Activist & Co-Founder @iACT is reporting from the ground in Chad, where he is visiting Darfur refugee camps with the Enough Project’s Darfur Dream Team His post is part of the campaign launched this week by Sudan Now to call for emergency assistance for survivors of ongoing Sudanese government attacks.

As Darfur continues to be bombed, and its people continue to be oppressed, Darfuri people say they feel a connection with the other attacked and marginalized people of Sudan and are standing in solidarity with them particularly in Blue Nile and South Kordofan. In these regions, aerial bombardments have killed and displaced untold numbers of civilians, and local farmers’ inability to plant crops during the attacks is now leading to an impending famine. - Gabriel Stauring

Ask President Obama to Help Stop the Violence in Sudan Over the past week, villages in the Abyei region were burned to the ground, and tens of thousands of people were forced to flee their homes. In Darfur over the past few months, the UN has also documented aerial bombardment of civilians and burning of villages with tens of thousands of Sudanese driven from their homes

Stop the violence in Abyei and Darfur

Dear President Obama,

Despite your efforts to help bring peace to Sudan, we are seeing escalating violence on the border between North and South Sudan, particularly in the region of Abyei. In Darfur over the past few months, the UN has also documented aerial bombardment of civilians and burning of villages with tens of thousands driven from their homes.

Based on recent images from the Satellite Sentinel Project and worrisome reports from sources on the ground, I am writing to implore you to take swift action

Save Darfur Coalition.
